Adult Workshop: Woodcut Relief Printing

This event is no longer on sale.

Sunday February 10

12:30 PM  –  3:30 PM

Explore the fundamentals of woodcut printing through traditional carving materials. Tour GRAM’s collection and discuss the historical and modern aesthetic of woodcut prints. Then, we will review the versatility of various woodcutting tools and carving techniques. Bring in your own drawing or photograph to inspire your finished image. You will learn how to transfer an image to wood, ink the block, and create a print with both the museum’s printing press and by hand.

No experience is necessary–just an open mind and a willingness to try something new. In GRAM Studio, we focus on the process, not the product, and encourage guests to explore their creativity. All supplies are provided. For more information, please contact Crystal Chesnik at 616.831.2927 or

Open to ages 18+. Registration is required. This workshop has a maximum of 30 participants, so sign up today.
